Your Ninja just completed an exciting journey into game development with Roblox® World Creators! Over the past week, they learned the essential skills to create their own interactive Roblox experiences using Roblox Studio and LUA scripting.
What We Covered This Week
Throughout the camp, Ninjas explored game design, coding, and world-building using Roblox Studio. Here’s a recap of the topics they mastered:
Day 1 – Introduction to Roblox Studio & Terrain Building- Navigated Roblox Studio and learned how to manipulate parts
- Designed landscapes using the terrain editor (mountains, water, and more)
- Created and saved their first Roblox game world
Day 2 – Decorating Worlds & Secret Hideouts- Added visual effects like fire, smoke, and lighting
- Used the AI Material Generator to create unique textures
- Built and customized their own secret hideout
Day 3 – Interactive Elements & LUA Scripting- Created hidden doors and triggers for player interactions
- Learned about weld constraints and proximity prompts
- Wrote their first LUA script to animate a door
Day 4 – Sound Design & Advanced Building Techniques- Explored the Roblox Marketplace for sound effects
- Integrated background music and interactive game sounds
- Used advanced tools like align, union, negate, and intersect to enhance their builds
Day 5 – NPC Creation & Game Publishing- Created NPCs (Non-Player Characters) that move and talk
- Customized their characters with rigs, accessories, and animations
- Published their game to Roblox so they can share it with friends & family!
